ABOUT ME

My Story

Hello! My name is Nicole Elizabeth Ashton (nee Gimpl). I am a Program Coordinator in the Career Services department of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.

While I was a student at the Cronkite School, I worked in the department as a student worker from 2015 to 2018, and after a brief foray into the private business sector post-graduation, I was fortunate enough to find my way back "home."

I am so thankful to hold this position and will do my absolute best to ensure students (like I was not so long ago) are able to achieve their dreams and become innovative leaders in their field.

To better serve our students and university, I will be pursuing a Master's of Arts degree from the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication beginning in August, 2020. I am also currently participating in training to become a Certified Professional Resume Writer ... stay tuned!

In addition to an indomitable work ethic, Nicole has also demonstrated exceptional critical thinking ability and creativity. Her work is never derivative. It has been, on the whole, astonishingly unique given the often repetitive subject matter she is tasked with writing about.

Kimberly Flores , Marketing Manager, WR Group, Inc.

Nicole is a great copywriter! She’s easy to work with + speedy and thorough with her projects. Very self-directed and takes it upon herself to go above and beyond the scope of work. Excellent time management skills and communication... I depended on her A LOT to get things done quickly and done well. Thanks Nicole!
